I am Gabor Heltovics - the new Business Development Director of Solvo Biotechnology. It is my pleasure to welcome you as a Reader of our new Solvo Newsletter.
We are launching this letter to inform you - our valued Customers - about new and exciting developments at Solvo that will help us provide you with current and new products and services of ever increasing quality.

2005 is going to be a very exciting year at SOLVO!

You will see and experience a range of positive developments. We will implement a number of exciting new initiatives to expand and improve our service to you. These initiatives will range from new product launches to the introduction of customer and enterprise resource management platforms as well as new web-based capabilities, etc.

SOLVO Business Development Core Team

The dynamic growth in SOLVO`s revenues in 2004 has been a result of the unparalleled expansion in our portfolio of products and services. SOLVO has entered into a new phase of its rapid development as a leading biotechnology company in membrane transport diagnostics.

In order to facilitate our future growth and improve our Customer Service, we have set up the Business Development Core Team.
Most of you know one or more members of this team already through emails, phone calls or various meetings.

	Gábor Heltovics, B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA Business Development Director Tel: +36-23-503-937, Fax:+36-23-503-941, Cell: +36-30-678-5481 Mr. Heltovics holds Master's degrees in Biology (1995), Chemistry (1995), and Business Administration (MBA - 2003). In 1995 he won an annual postgraduate research scholarship at Oxford University studying Neuropharmacology. He started his career in Procter & Gamble Global R&D in the UK, where he worked on various research and development project as a Senior Scientist (1996 - 2001). In 2001, he returned to his native country - Hungary where he has held senior management positions in Coca - Cola and European Clinical Trials Associates. Mr. Heltovics has just joint SOLVO Biotechnology and is responsible for business development operations. He is the author of a number of papers and 15 Patents.
	Attila Nemeth M.D. Ph.D. M.B.A. OecD. Business Development & Strategy Consultant Tel.: +36 23 503 943, Fax: +36 23 503 941, Cell: +36 209 210 130 Dr. Nemeth graduated from the Semmelweis University Medical School (SUMS), Budapest in 1989. He has extensive clinical as well as molecular biological experience - worked as an internist & molecular cardiologist at the SUMS, Institute for Biochemistry in Vienna, UT Southwestern Medical Centre, Dallas, TX, US, Royal Perth University Teaching Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. He received his Ph.D. from molecular biology - lipid research & Alzheimer's pathobiology- having completed his pre-doc fellowship at two Nobelists' - Brown & Goldstein's - lab in Dallas, TX. He also has an MBA & currently he is finishing his 2nd Ph.D. in economics - health care reforms in transition societies & venture capital investment & risk management for biotech start-ups in the CEE region. Beside his work at Solvo he is still practicing medicine at the Nat'l Institute for Psychiatry & Neurology as an Associate Professor of Medicine & Genetics. He published more than 25 scientific papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and authored several chapters in the Hungarian Textbook of Gerontopsychiatry.
	Peter Andrew Csíkos, LL.M, MBA Senior Business Development Associate Tel: +36-23-503-940, Fax:+36-23-503-941, Cell: +36-30-627-1063 Dr. Csíkos obtained his Master of Laws with majors in International and European Law from Paris X.- Nanterre University, France in 2001 and his MBA from the joint program of Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Lyon University in 2003, with majors in New Technologies and Management. Dr. Csíkos joined to SOLVO in 2002, and previously he worked at various multinational companies in the field of consulting and business development.
	Bernadette KOVÁCS, M.Sc. Business Development Associate Tel: +36-23-503-935, Fax: +36-23-503-941, Cell: +36-30-740-2518 Ms. Kovács obtained her MSc. degree in Bioengineering with specialization in Industrial Biotechnology at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Bernadette started her career as a Research Associate at Semmelweis University, later she spent two years at Genoid Ltd. as a Project Manager, working on various quality insurance projects.

SOLVO has won the 2004 Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize

The official announcement of the XIII. Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize Competition winners took place in the Hungarian Parliament on 1 April 2005, where Dr. Ferenc Mádl, the President of the Republic of Hungary handed the prize to Mr. Ernő Duda, the CEO of Solvo Biotechnology.
The Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize was founded by the Hungarian Innovation Association in 1991 and is awarded annually to the institution or enterprise whose activities constitute the most profitable and significant innovation realized in the preceding year.

Solvo was awarded the Grand Prize for the development and successful commercialization of its unique assay systems connected to ABC membrane transport proteins.

MRP Patents Acquired by SOLVO

SOLVO have recently acquired patent rights for the use MRP1, MRP2, and MRP3 cDNAs in drug discovery and development. From now on, customers using our membranes do not need sublicense for these transporters.

Upcoming Conferences

It is our pleasure to announce that in the next few weeks, SOLVO will exhibit on two different international conferences.

1. Biosquare 2005 - SOLVO Stand No.:M18B
Biosquare 2005 (April 13-15, 2005) is a unique platform for the top management of biotechnology companies to meet with key research and business development executives from the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, agriculture, food, and finance industries. BioSquare will be held on the occasion of the next World Life Sciences Forum, BioVision 2005. BioSquare and BioVision will take place in conjunction with several other events such as the Nobel Laureates' Day, BioVision.Nxt and Europ@BioVision.The unique combination of these events represents the largest gathering at the highest level of key opinion-leaders and decision-makers from the World of Life Sciences.

2. EUFEPS 3rd World Conference on Drug Absorption, Transport and Delivery - SOLVO Exhibit Room A, Stand No.:22
EUFEPS Conference on Drug Absorption, Transport and Delivery will be held between April 18 and April 20, 2005. This conference tends to be among the most important conferences on drug transporters this year.
The conference will reflect that drug absorption; transport and delivery are multidisciplinary disciplines that are undergoing rapid development. The molecular biological revolution, new drug design technologies, novel delivery approaches and the concurrent evolvement of regulatory principles offer several exciting research topics for both academic and industrial scientists. These developments are continuously broadening the borderlands between chemistry, material, science, pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and drug delivery and provide new opportunities for novel treatment approaches and effective drug products. The 3rd World Conference on Drug Absorption, Transport and Delivery will illustrate the integration of complementary industrial and academic research approaches leading to new and improved experimental models, drugs with improved biopharmaceutic quality and novel drug delivery systems.
