We are happy to announce that SOLVO Biotechnology has upgraded the MXR(BCRP)-VT assay!

In this assay, isolated, inside-out membrane vesicles of MXR-expressing cells are used, but the reference substrate has been changed from ³H-Methotrexate to ³H-estrone-sulfate.

In fact, the use of ³H-estrone-sulfate gives a much better signal-to-noise ratio and a lower background, compared to that of ³H-Methotrexate. Furthermore, one can use significantly less radioactivity (total count) in a reaction which results in a less expensive assay and lower amount of radioactive waste:
