Junior Trainee Program

Gain real work experience before finishing University in Szeged or Budapest

Who can apply to the program?

  • MSc students studying Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharma, or a related field, with 3 semesters (1.5 years) remaining in their studies
  • Students must be:
    • Fluent in English
    • Able to commit to 12-16 hours of work per week for the duration of the program
    • Able to commit to minimum 1,5 yrs program with Solvo

 

What are the benefits of the program?

  • Support and supervision for the student’s thesis project
  • Laboratory experience from industry experts in modern laboratories, including cell culture techniques and drug transporter assays
  • Learn about the day-to-day business operations of an internationally recognized biotechnology company
  • The most qualified students may be offered a full-time position afterward (if available)
  • Possibility to gain experience in automation

 

What does the program look like?

1st semester

  • Work in the Research and Development (RnD) laboratory to learn basic techniques and technologies
  • Participate in a training program including journal clubs and scientific lectures
  • An evaluation will be performed at the end of thi first semester to choose the most promising candidates to continue on for the remainder of the program

 2nd semester

  • Continue to work in the RnD laboratory to generate thesis data
  • Participate in training about the operations of the company
  • Continue to participate in scientific training
  • A second evaluation will be performed at the end of the semester to assign the candidate to the appropriate division for their final semester (RnD, Automation, Metabolism, Production, Services, Bioanalytics, QA/QC, or Sales & Business Development)

3rd Semester

  • Participate in work and training in the assigned division
  • Continue to participate in scientific training
  • Preparation of the written thesis
  • The final evaluation will be performed at the end of this semester. The most qualified candidate(s) may receive a full-time job offer for available open position(s)
