SOLVO Biotechnology traveled to The Big Easy for the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting (March 13-17).
We were delighted to welcome over 100 attendees to our sponsored symposium talk in which Dr. Colin Brown (Newcastle University) spoke about his primary renal proximal tubule cell model as a tool for predictive nephrotoxicity studies.
His data showed that clinically relevant biomarkers of nephrotoxicity, KIM-1, NGAL, and Clusterin could be used to measure time- and dose-dependent toxicity caused by cisplatin, gentamicin, cyclosporin A, and methotrexate. In addition, Dr Brown discussed how the model could be used to examine nephrotoxicity caused by polymixins, and described a novel strategy for protecting against polymixin-induced toxicity.
The renal proximal tubule cell model is available as an exclusive service provided by SOLVO Biotechnology, and if you would like more information or were unable to attend Dr. Brown’s talk and would like to schedule a webinar, please contact your local SOLVO representative who will be happy to help.
